Airports

The Greater Los Angeles area includes five major airports: Los Angeles International (LAX), Bob Hope Airport (BUR) (formerly Burbank/Glendale/Pasadena), Long Beach (LGB), Ontario (ONT), and Orange County John Wayne International (SNA). Pasadena is accessible by freeway from any of these airports; the most convenient is Bob Hope (Burbank), just 20 minutes away.

Parking on Campus

Caltech has limited parking located all around the perimeter. There is no fee for parking anywhere on campus, and permits are required. You CANNOT park in name-assigned spaces or in designated (orange) carpool spaces. The campus map indicates the location of the Beckmann Institute, and parking areas. Street parking is generally limited to 1 or 2 hours during the day. The limits are enforced and you will be ticketed or towed away. Visitors should check in at the security office at the Holliston Parking Structure (A). Complete the visitor information form and you will be issued a Visitor's Permit for the duration of the visit and be given directions to Visitor parking spaces in the Holliston (A) and North Wilson (B) Parking Structures.

The visitor parking form may be completed and sent to the Parking Office in advance and the permit and instructions will be sent to the visitor prior to their arrival on campus. We ask that advance reservations for visitors be completed five business days in advance of their arrival to allow adequate time for mailing, whenever possible. An on-line version of the form is available on the Campus Parking web site at http://atc.caltech.edu/CIT_Parking/home.htm Any questions regarding the visitor parking process or any other parking query can be directed to the Parking Office, extension 8877 or via email to parking@caltech.edu. If you need assistance with the registration form, call the ATC CARE Help Desk at ext. 5555 or, if calling from an off-campus location, (626) 395-4500.
