Jclub is the CNS students' (& some postdocs') journal club, a weekly meeting, usually Wednesday at noon, at which one student presents an interesting paper he/she has read recently. Presentation rotates to another student each week. Jclub traditionally has been very well attended by the first years, since it is also a great way for you to keep in touch with each other and to start meeting older grad students.
Everyone who attends a journal club will be expected to present. A presentation list will be periodically updated, and each speaker will receive a reminder that it is her/his turn to present. Please send the list above a title, reference, and brief abstract on the Monday before your presentation.
People who want to eat will need to RSVP to the speaker after the weekly announcement has been sent. The speaker will send the list an email with the venue, which will be the Ath if the number of attendees is 10 or less, else some other venue of the speaker's choice. If we do not eat at the Ath, we'll typically go to Avery, where there will be a 'cns' card at the register to charge meals on.
People who do not RSVP will be subject to an extreme diet, and seating may not even be possible at the Ath. People who RSVP and do not show up will be put on the list. You do not want to be on the list.
